English Language Arts
Children in early elementary are at the critical age where they learn HOW to read. Once they understand how to read text, they can begin to develop their comprehension and vocabulary skills more deeply. Weaving writing skills into reading helps to solidify and apply their understanding because they can express themselves through their writing. What that means is that we spend A LOT of our school day reading and writing.
